Privacy Statement

We take protection of your personal data seriously and process them exclusively on the basis of the relevant statutory provisions (GDPR, DSG 2000, TKG 2003). In the following you will find information on the most important aspects of data processing in the context of our website.

Personal data such as name, e-mail address and telephone number are only processed and communicated in keeping with the legal provisions – for the fulfilment of contractual obligations, on the basis of consent or on the basis of the controller’s predominantly legitimate interests.

Contact with us

If you contact us using the form on the website or by e-mail, your data will be used to process your request. Except where use is made of the services of a contract processor, we will not share your data without your consent. If we make use of the services of a contract processor, we remain responsible for your data.

This data processing is necessary for the performance of the contract, including use of the data for the implementation of pre-contractual measures, in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1(b) GDPR.

Web page display / statistical analysis

Every time you visit our website, our ´web servers store the visit in a log file. The following data in particular are involved:

  • IP address of the requesting processor
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the downloaded file
  • Volume of data transmitted
  • Message indicating whether the download was successful
  • Identification data of the browser and operating system used
  • Website from which our site was accessed

The data are stored to allow use of our website (connection setup, web page display) and in the interest of system security, technical administration of the network infrastructure and optimisation of our Internet services. Your IP address is only analysed in emergencies, e.g. to investigate attacks. Individual user profiles are not created.

The legal basis for the above data processing is Article 6 para. 1(f) GDPR, which allows for the processing of personal data in the context of our “legitimate interests”, provided that your fundamental rights, fundamental freedoms or interests are not overriding. Our legitimate interests consist in the easier administration and secure operation of our web pages and in the quantification, analysis and improvement of our web pages and the offers contained.

ISH Service Area

An internal service portal is provided for ISH residents. This portal serves to facilitate organisational matters and communication between residents and the student council. When you log in to the portal and enter your data, the following personal data will be processed:

  • User name
  • IP address of the requesting processor
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the downloaded file / resource used
  • Volume of data transmitted
  • Message indicating whether the download was successful
  • Identification data of the browser and operating system used
  • Website from which our site was accessed

If you contact us using the form (e.g. fault report), the data you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your inquiry and in case of further questions. If repairs are required, we forward the report and the name and address of the resident (and possibly also the telephone number) to external service providers (e.g. property manager, plumber, carpenter). This data processing is necessary for the performance of the contract including use of the data for the implementation of pre-contractual measures in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1(b) GDPR or on the basis of our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1(f) GDPR).

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. These are small text files that are stored on your device via your browser. They do no harm to your device.

Only session cookies are used. These are temporary cookies that are only placed during your visit to the website. These cookies are not used to collect data but only for session management, i.e. the optimisation of page display and navigation. Deactivating cookies may limit the functionality of our website.

Contract processors

We also remain responsible for the protection of your data when the services of a data processing contractor are employed. Contract processors outside of the European Union will only be employed if an Appropriateness Decision has been granted by the European Commission for the country involved, if suitable guarantees or binding internal data protection regulations are in place with the contract processor.

Your rights

You are principally guaranteed the rights of information, correction, deletion, limitation, data portability, cancellation and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or that your rights under data protection law have been infringed in any other way, you may complain to the supervisory authority. In Austria, that is the Data Protection Authority.

In keeping with our legal duty of cooperation, we are obliged to surrender data upon request in accordance with the statutory provisions (Code of Civil Procedure, Code of Criminal Procedure, etc).
